The WindChasers began as a vision shared by experienced ultra runners Ram Sethu and Priya Darshini. Ram, with an impressive resume that includes the grueling 4 Deserts races—250 km across both the Sahara and Gobi Deserts—along with numerous other endurance events, and Priya, a competitive swimmer, martial artist, and runner, found their path take a pivotal turn in 2007. Running a 100-mile race in the Himalayas, they were profoundly moved by the region’s breathtaking beauty and the raw challenge of its terrain and weather.
Inspired to share this transformative experience, they founded The WindChasers. After organizing several reconnaissance runs and races in the Himalayas, the initiative took shape, offering ultra marathons and stage events across the Himalayas, and Nilgiris Mountains. After the Nepal Earthquake, we had no choice but to temporarily put The Windchasers on pause. But to this day, we remain committed to our mission—bringing challenge, adventure, and joy to the running community—and hope to return to the mountains and jungles of India soon.
